Flying Arts Opportunities for regional and remote Queensland Artists!

Artiz – Young Artist Development Program is a four-day intensive training and skills development event for talented young artists, aged 15 -18 years of age, from across Queensland who are thinking about a career in the visual and media arts. This year the event will take place in Townsville. Artiz 2011 is produced by Flying Arts in association with James Cook University. Dates: Tuesday 28 June - Friday 1 July 2011. Queensland Regional Art Awards provides awards, recognition and career development for emerging and practising artists aged 15+. The 2011 judge and curator is Michele Helmrich, Art Museum Curator, University of Queensland Art Museum.  This year’s theme is ‘Connection’.  Entries close 4 July 2011. Professional Development 4 Arts Educators is a professional development workshop for arts educators and art teachers, to further their visual and media arts skills and knowledge for application in the classroom. During the two days you will acquire tools, tips and resources through hands on visual art and media workshops, demonstrations and discussions. The two workshops will be led by highly experienced Flying Arts artists and facilitators, Claudia Castle and Anne Lord. These workshops will take place in Townsville and professional development certificates will be provided. PD 4 Arts Educators workshop is produced by Flying Arts in association with James Cook University. RADF Advisory Committee EOI's now open

Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from practitioners in culture, arts and heritage to serve on the 2011/2012 RADF Advisory Committee for the Moreton Bay region.
RADF is a highly successful funding program that supports development activities in the fields of culture, arts and heritage across the Moreton Bay region. 
The RADF Advisory Committee is comprised of community members from a mix of artforms and backgrounds.
The Advisory Committee’s role is to assess applications, determine discretionary policy issues and make funding recommendations to council whilst adhering to the RADF guidelines.
